Our Origins

AQUAE comes from Aquae Bilbilitanorum -  the Roman name of the Spanish town now called “Alhama de Aragon”.

Alhama de Aragon is a town with a long tradition of spas, well-known for its waters, that emanate from a natural spring.

Romans and later Arabs used to bath in this region due to the mineral medicinal properties of its waters, which are known to have healing properties.

Arabs gave the town its current name “Alhama” which comes from “Al Hammam”, meaning, “the baths”.
